How it works

How is the enroute corridor built?
NOSIG draws the great-circle route from departure to destination and lists every airport within the width you choose in Settings (100, 140 or 180 NM either side) that has scheduled airline service and a runway at least as long as your minimum.
Which time does the TAF on each card use?
Your ETD for the departure airport, the estimated arrival time for the destination, and the time you are abeam for every enroute airport. Times assume 15 minutes from off-blocks to the start of the route and a ground speed of 440 kt.
How often is the weather updated?
METARs, TAFs and SIGMETs are refreshed every 10 minutes while the app is open, SIGWX charts every 30 minutes.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Open your route while you are still online. Without a connection NOSIG shows the last data it downloaded and how old it is. SIGMETs that have expired stay on the map for up to six hours, faded and marked with their end time.
Why does an airport show no METAR?
Either the airport does not report METARs or its reports are not in the NOAA Aviation Weather Center feed.
Which SIGWX charts are included?
High level (FL250–FL600) for ICAO area H, which covers Europe, the North Atlantic and North America, with the other WAFC Washington areas selectable; mid level (FL100–FL450) for the North Atlantic area.
Can I change the units?
Yes, in Settings: metric (metres, °C, hPa) or U.S. (feet, °F, inHg). Wind stays in knots, distances in nautical miles and levels in feet. The raw METAR and TAF text is never changed.
How do I delete my notes and saved data?
Delete a note from its airport card. Deleting the app removes everything it saved.
