NOSIG

Privacy policy

Effective 27 October 2026

NOSIG does not collect personal data. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking or analytics in the app. This policy explains what the app keeps on your phone, how it uses your location, which servers it contacts and how the NOSIG Pro subscription is handled.

What stays on your phone

The routes you enter and save, today’s flights, your airport notes, your minima and other settings, and the weather, SIGMETs, pilot reports, NAT tracks and SIGWX charts the app downloads are stored only in NOSIG’s storage on your phone. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them. If you back up your phone, this data can be part of that backup, which you control.

The home screen widget shows your homebase METAR. The app passes that METAR to the widget through storage on your device; it does not leave the device. On Android the widget also downloads the latest homebase METAR from aviationweather.gov about every 30 minutes, like the app itself does. A briefing PDF is made on your phone and goes only where you choose to share it.

Location

If you allow it, NOSIG uses your location to show your position on the map, to open the map where you are, to list the airports nearest to you and, when you turn on GPS in the app, to show your track, ground speed and GPS altitude. Your location is used on the phone only. The app does not store it and does not send it anywhere. You can allow or deny location at any time in your phone’s settings.

Servers the app contacts

To show weather, NOSIG downloads METARs, TAFs, SIGMETs, pilot reports and SIGWX charts directly from the NOAA Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov), and the North Atlantic track message from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (nms.aim.faa.gov and notams.aim.faa.gov). These requests contain airport identifiers and nothing about you, but like any internet request they show your device’s IP address to those servers. The privacy policies of NOAA and the FAA apply to those requests. The map, airport database and fonts are built into the app, so no map service is contacted.

Shared routes

When you share a route, NOSIG makes a link to nosigapp.com/r/ that contains the departure, destination, ETD, cruise level and the points you moved the route through. The link goes only where you send it. Opening it shows the route in NOSIG, or on that page of this website if the app is not installed; the route is read by the app or by your browser and is not stored on any server.

NOSIG Pro subscription

NOSIG Pro is bought and managed through the App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. To know whether NOSIG Pro is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID created on your phone, your purchase and subscription status, the store receipt (which includes the app version you first downloaded, so that early users keep NOSIG Pro for free), your device’s country and IP address, and the app and system version. This is used only to provide the subscription and to count subscriptions, not for advertising or tracking; RevenueCat’s privacy policy applies to it. The app checks this each time it starts, whether or not you subscribe. Ratings you leave through the App Store or Google Play rating prompt go to Apple or Google, not to us.

Feedback by email

The Feedback buttons and the “Report wrong data” link open your own mail app with a message to support@nosigapp.com, filled in with the app version, your phone model and its system version. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself. We use what you write only to answer you and to improve NOSIG, and we delete it when it is no longer needed for that.

This website

nosigapp.com is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may log visitors’ IP addresses for security, as described in GitHub’s privacy statement. The site may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and reports only totals such as page views and countries, not individual visitors. Fonts are served from this site, so your browser contacts no other font service.

Children

NOSIG is made for pilots and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Apart from emails you choose to send us, we do not hold personal data about you. If you have written to us, you can ask for a copy of your messages or for them to be deleted. If you have questions about your rights under the GDPR, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) or another privacy law, write to us at the address below.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
